Marca reported on Wednesday that France striker Antoine Griezmann will stay at Atletico Madrid next season. Although the form of the 31-year-old offensive line with Atletico lacks consistency 

Griezmann has returned from Barcelona on a one-year loan with the option to extend for another season. This also includes a €40 million mandatory purchase clause. That will take effect from 2023 if players play 50 per cent of Atletico’s ufabet games in the 2022-2023 season. 

This season, Griezmann has playe in more than 60 per cent of Atletico Madrid’s games – 24 in Liga and nine in the Champions League. But the 31-year-old forward has not performed well, scoring just eight goals and making five assists. 

However, Griezmann retains the trust of coach Diego Simeone, while Atletico still believe the 31-year-old forward is a world-class player and believe he will return to his best version. The club will pay 40 million euros to sign the player permanently in 2023.
